NEW PORTFOLIO PREPARATION SESSION – HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PORTFOLIO REVIEW
Introducing the new Portfolio Preparation Session with Gallery Director Laura Noble. These one-to-one meetings to assist photographers with their consolidation of images, sequencing, printing styles and presentation options ahead of their portfolio review.
In the build up to numerous photo festivals, being prepared is everything as portfolio review sessions are usually only 20 minutes long.
You may wish to seek advice prior to the review to present the best version of your photographs and best present yourself as an artist. In order to present a cohesive package for your upcoming sessions why not gain the knowledge of a seasoned expert – to take your work and career to the next level.
Showing too many or too few images, a shallow sequence, or a distracting presentation method can disengage the reviewer thus prohibiting the review from being beneficial. As a regular reviewer at L A Noble Gallery and by invitation to many festivals both in the UK and overseas – including Rencontres d’Arles, Format and Paris Photo– Laura Noble can help you make the most from your forthcoming sessions. Advice can factor around budget, time constraints, practical advice on printing or presenting your work digitally, editing and post-review materials for the reviewer also. Being organised is the key to a successful and educational Portfolio Review, so why not start as you mean to go on – to ensure your forthcoming experience at reviews procure the best results.
Each session costs £55 – 20 min or £75 – 40 min.
Work can be brought in any format. If bringing more that one project be mindful of the time you will need when booking.
Please contact email@example.com to book a Portfolio Preparation Session. Payment is required in advance and is non-refundable.
In keeping with the tradition of salons in the 1930’s why not book a salon session - bring one of your photographs to discuss. This is a rare opportunity for photographers who want feedback on a particular project to discuss their work both with their peers and with one of London’s leading gallerists.
Each salon we ask photographers to bring one print or image on a laptop to speak about with the group for 5 minutes. The group will then offer advice, feedback and ask questions. Gallery Director Laura Noble will also offer advice and suggestions regarding the work and presentation skills for each participant.
Evening bookings 18.30 – 20.00
Cost: £12 per person – payment in advance (non-refundable) 5 people or more £10 each
Here are just some of the comments we received from participating photographers who have attended our Salon events so far:
“Thanks for the other evening. Lots of ideas flowing around at the Summer Salon & a wide variety of work = great.”
“I really enjoyed tonight’s event, thanks for organizing it. I hope to see more of this kind of thing in the future!”
“A great night. Such a variety of work and all of it brilliant!”
“Thank you for having me! It was really useful to practice talking about the project or vague idea. And a privilege to look at the start of all the other photographers projects too. Thank you.”
“It was very refreshing to present work to a like minded audience that was willing to listen and give positive, constructive feedback. Presenting a single image for five minutes can be difficult, especially when you don’t do it often. Overall a very positive and relaxing experience. Thank you all for the feedback!”
